HWTI @ 125( HOPE WADDELL INSTITUTE CLOCKS 125YEARS

Hope Waddell Training Institute. Founded 1885, is one of the  first schools to be established East Nigeria and among the top 5 oldest school in contemporary Nigeria It’s contributions to Nigeria and beyond are numerous. This includes governance, politics, arts, science and sports. The first recorded football match in Nigeria was played in Hope Waddell on June 15, 1904 between the school team and the crew of the English Naval Ship HMS DWARF.

 

  In celebration of it’s 125 years of existence & impact, the national executive of the Hope Waddell Old. Student  Association rolled out plan of events and project slated to hold between 2nd-8th of Match, 2020. 

 

All events took place as planned starting with a press conference, culminating with a road show/ carnival train, after high powered well attended AGM. 

The highpoint of the events was the dinner and grand launch of the 125 Million endowment fund which had the president of Nigeria President M.Buhari as it’s Chief guest of honour was represented by the SGF Mr Boss Mustapha, Other Guest of honour Like the Chief of Naval staff AVM Ibok Ette( an old boy)
